T is training today. A four hour training session and we brought Tucker with us. He’s being such a good boy and really enjoying riding and being outside.

USAT NC 2019 Gold Medalist

T fought today and won Gold at USAT NC. It was held two minutes from our home. It was nice to attend a tournament that was close to home for a change. Here’s some pictures:

T weighed in and made weight for USAT NC. This boy was weighing 63.6 pounds and he has to weigh under 66 pounds for USAT. He’s doing great with eating and drinking healthy to stay in his division. He gets to eat and grow after Nationals in July provided he doesn’t do Presidents Cup in October in Oregon and Las Vegas Open In November. So much remains to be seen when you are playing the points game with USAT. Learning so much and at the same time being frustrated trying to learn it all...LOL! On a better note though we have been able to make some head way with his schooling to keep it caught up this past week. It’s a lot of work keeping it all balanced. So glad we homeschool or T wouldn’t be able to do all that he does with TaeKwonDo. Have a great night everyone and there will be an update after the tourney tomorrow.

Friday, Better Known as Weigh In Day at our house!

Happy Weigh In Day! It’s better known as Friday to common folk...LOL! T fights tomorrow at the USAT NC Tournament. It’s like literally a 2 minute car ride from our house. Thank God for small breaks from all the traveling! T’s been beating up on Bob a ton this week getting ready for this tournament. Hoping to win another Gold medal. He may be fighting the kid he fought last week in GA but first that kid and another kid will fight. T gets a by, because he’s ranked, and will fight the winner.

Next week we head to Maryland for an AAU tournament. We are going to that one to get more fight time. If he wins great but this one will mainly be for the ring time and to get to know some of the other fighters in his division that he may be facing at Nationals.

USAT Georgia 2019 - Video

So we have stayed to watch the remainder of the fights. It’s been educational and we are learning a lot while we watch. Plus we got to watch some fights of fighters we are following. It’s been an all around fun day here in Georgia.

USAT Georgia 2019 - Took Gold

T won Gold here at USAT Georgia today. He will have to fight this kid again at NC next week. Praying he wins Gold again. Wanting to see him go out with a bang in the youth division this year. He’ll be a first year Cadet next year and it will be a ton of learning next year I’m sure. So thankful for all the opportunities he has to fight I. This sport he loves so much. Praying he continues to improve and advance as he moves through the divisions over the years. Here are the first of several posts to come of T’s pictures from his fight today.

Tim's 2025 Accomplishments!

Tim had a huge year in 2025, moving through three weight classes. He began in the 61 kg division and finished in the 71 kg division, with the June weight category update shifting the weight classes. Despite all the transitions, Tim made tremendous progress. He earned 4 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals (6 Silver finishes) & 3 Bronze Medals (4 Bronze finishes) - which were his 1st USA National Level Medals. To top all that off he is the record holder for the snatch & total in the Youth 71kg division for WSO Carolinas. A standout year filled with growth, experience, and momentum for Tim.

Heaven Gained a Hero Aug. 16, 1935 to May 16, 2024 - 88 years old

It's hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. Pop (Franklin Eugene Neal) was born in Ashland, KY. He graduated Thomas R. Brown High School and was a proud Army National Guard Veteran. He loved cars and working on them. He loved racing them with his boys, Jeff and Scot. He could fix just about anything. If he didn't have a tool for something then he'd make it. He valued family above everything. He loved traveling and going to amusement parks with his kids and grandkids, especially Disney World. He will forever be missed and forever be in our hearts! (this is not his official Obit)

Doris Jean Stergeon "Nan" Neal

Doris Jean Stergeon Neal, 88, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025 surrounded by family. Born June 13, 1937, to James B. and Opal McDowell Stergeon, Doris was a 1955 graduate of Thomas R. Brown High School, where she met the love of her life, Franklin Neal, who preceded her in death in 2024. Married for over 70 years, Doris and Frank built a life centered on love and family, raising their three children: Elaine, Jeffrey, and Scot. A devoted member of Faith Christian Assembly, Doris cherished homemaking, gardening, floral arranging, crocheting, and reading. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—always her family’s biggest cheerleader. She is survived by her 3 children, her 5 grandchildren, and her 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 2 brothers, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
