Muscle Strain

T has strained his left thigh muscle while training again. I’m sure he kicked Bully Bob,

too hard. Great thing that we know a great chiropractor that can do laser therapy on his leg. Woohoo 🙌!  He’ll be back up and training harder than ever pretty quickly thanks to that bit of technology. Plus we have a tens unit that helps as well. So thankful for all the equipment we have on hand for our Elite Athlete to be able to continue to train and heal. Just wish we had a dedicated space other than our living room for all of it...LOL!

Sad😞 News

Tonight we found out that one of T’s coaches, Master Wasiu, is no longer going to be instructor or Master at Carolina Kicks in Matthews, NC where T has been doing his sparring training for the past two years. It’s sad news that we will no longer be training at Carolina Kicks but we are looking forward and moving forward with Master Wasiu as T’s coach. Our relationship with this Master was built and formed because of Grand Master Cann and we will continue to honor her memory by honoring this Master. It’s been a better part two years building a goooood relationship with this Master. He is amazing at what he does and we will continue on. Where will that lead?  As of yet we don’t know. We know he wants to open his own Dojang so we will continue to train wherever, whenever, and however we can with him. So nothing will change for T except he will no longer be associated with Carolina Kicks.

Because of you, Grand Master Cann, May you Rest In Peace,

We will continue to honor your Master Instructor, Master Wasiu,

who is a great Master and Coach.

We are thankful for all God did in bringing us to Grand Master Cann. The relationship God forged between she and I was as if we’d known one another all our lives. The bond that was tied between us was one of depth of respect and love. She has never been forgotten and we are so thankful that she left us with a great Master/Coach in Master Wasiu. Honoring him because of what God started with her is so very important to us. Master Wasiu is why T is where he is today in his sparring and T still has much to learn from him.

Eyes forward. No looking back. Continuing to look up to God from where our help comes from. We know that God will lead and guide us and Master Wasiu to where He wants us to be and wherever that is it will bring glory and honor to both God and Grand Master Cann. She and God will be proud of what is accomplished in the end!  Thank you God for always guiding us as we move forward in this life. Our best days are ahead of us, not behind us!

Virtual Workout Clips

Here are some short clips of T working out virtually with his coach. He’s still working hard for when the powers that be open things back up from this Coronavirus Pandemic. T is so looking forward to when he can be back training with his team and competing again.

It’s hard to train at home like he’s been having to do and not have a moving target to mix it up with like he has when he gets to be with his teammates or at competitions. In January huge strides were made in his training. It’s my prayer that with what he’s doing here at home virtually with his coach(es) that it’s been enough to keep him dialed in like he needs to be. Enjoy these short clips.

Another Star Wars Build Done

T has been dealing with some tummy issues so he hasn’t been able to train. Since he’s been laying around resting and hydrating he’s been able to catch up on another Lego build. I made him stand up and smile with it. It’s the Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle:

Another 🦷 Bit The Dust

T lost another tooth on Wednesday. He’s gotten quite good at yanking them out. This last one was loose enough to cause pain but not loose enough to really pull but he did it anyway. It’s his second bleeder ever. That’s how his last two pulls have been...LOL!

Roof Problems

We were hoping and praying the roof would hold out a bit longer before we had to start looking into replacing it but I think we’ll be having to look into that soon rather than later. These were taken from our Master bedroom:

We have a dormer in our bedroom and it’s that portion of the roof that’s starting to leak. We’ve got to sit down and get some price quotes now for what we will be looking at financially. We also want to compare pricing for the metal roofs verses shingles. We’ve seen more and more people putting the metal on instead of shingles. Not sure why though. Will update when I have more to tell.

Lego Build Star Wars Y-Wing Starfighter

T’s latest Lego build.

30 Second Kicking Drill

So recently T’s coach has been having the team play a game of a 30 second kicking drill. They do as many kicks as they can in 30 seconds and the team is supposed to count up the actual points each makes on their kicks as they take their turn. Let me tell you that counting as they kick is impossible. Scot and I tried and failed miserably at counting them all. Now we know why numbers were all over the place when the team would tell what they had counted. So we decided to record it and watch it back and count so we could get a more accurate number. T missed eights points on his taps and he made 113 points on his taps on his Bob that we counted from watching in slow motion and counting. Quite impressive and a very good drill to do to build speed and endurance. Check it out family and friends. Please forgive the fact that he’s in his pjs but it was a pj relaxing kinda day today.

Always make room for fun while training. Gotta have some fun in your day everyday😁.

Training Yesterday

Here’s some clips from some training T did yesterday. The shield Scot is holding has seen better days and isn’t much protection against T’s kicks. Check out the video below:

The Solar Rover Experiment

T build a solar rover today with a Dr Pepper can and he calls it the 150 calorie mobile because a can of DP is 150 calories.

Another Lego Build

T’s second Lego Build. These are builds we’ve had stored for quite a while. He loves doing the architecture builds. Of course everyone should know which building this is anyhow. He’s decided to put this one on the headboard of his bed.

Got these little clips of T training yesterday. He’s still training hard even though we are staying home because of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Happy Easter🐣!!!

Today we made sure to take time to remember and give thanks for our Lord’s sacrifice that He made in our stead.  Because of what He did for us we have a hope that’s assured. 🎶Blessed Assurance Jesus is mine...🎶 is the song that’s been playing in my head today. Here are the words to it. It’s one one my favorite hymnals.

Lego Builds

The boys doing their own Lego Builds. We’ve had builds stacked for some time now because we haven’t had the time to do builds but we do now...LOL!

We took the time today to also celebrate Scot’s upcoming birthday on the 15th. We celebrated early because T has a long training day on his actual birthday😁. We got him a few Lego Builds from the Speed Series😁. He loved getting some new builds.

Dirt Bike Fun...

T had a great time riding his bike this past weekend. He had one crash from going too fast but he had no injuries and the bike was fine. I will say that he wears all the safety gear that Motocross riders wear though and that’s why he didn’t have any injuries. He loves to ride his bike every chance he gets though.

Just some quick snippets...

Here’s just a quick snippet of T doing online training last week. This is just a small portion from his training sessions last week. He did a whole lot more than what you’ll see in this short video. Just wanted to give you a little look see into life for T while our nation is dealing with this Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Dirt Bike Fun

T can now stand flat footed on his bike comfortably. He rode yesterday evening and is riding today and having a blast. Stay at home order = fun with us. One way or another we will have fun no matter the circumstances. Only wish we had another dirt bike for Scot and a four wheeler for me. In time we will have them.

New Equipment

We had to buy this to protect our walls when T is kicking on his Wave Master or Bob:

We already have some areas we are going to have to fix where the base hit the wall😳. The Wave Master or Bob have to stay where the coaches can see them and so now we are totally equipped for online training. And yes T Kick’s hard enough to move the Wave Master or Bob even with their bases completely filled😳.

I was holding a shield today for T to practice his back Kick’s and he had to quickly switch back to the Wave Master. I would never wanna be an opponent on the other end of his back kick. That boy kicks hard😳.

Hard Workouts

Last few workouts with his coach and team have been hard. T has been so sore because of working on speed training and strength training. He so wants to be the best athlete he can be and right now he’s been in lots of pain because he’s using muscles he never used before. He is doing his best to push through the pain though. He knows that he’ll be much better on the other side of pain. And at that point he’ll be able to see that the “pain is worth the gain”. He can’t see it right now but he will.

Tonight, after the evening training session, T has been chilling and doing online games with his friends. He’s been on group calling on his phone and it’s been like I had a house full of boys and all I have is the one...LOL!

Here are a few pictures from T doing online training earlier in the week:
