If You Knew Everything God Brought Me Through…

If You Knew Everything God Brought Me Through…

I have often thought about how easy it is for people to look at someone’s life and only see what is visible today.

They see the smile.

They see the strength.

They see the faith.

They see the person who keeps going, keeps showing up, and keeps praising God.

But they don't always see what it took to get there.

They don't know the battles you fought in private. They don't know the nights you cried, the moments you felt completely broken, or the times you wondered how you were ever going to make it through. They don't know the things you had to overcome, the wounds you had to heal from, or the moments when you had no idea what the future was going to look like.

They only see the person standing today.

But God knows everything.

He knows every part of the story.

He knows the places where I was hurt. He knows the things I had to overcome. He knows the seasons when I felt alone, afraid, and unsure of what would come next. He knows the moments when I didn't have the strength to keep going on my own.

And He also knows that I am not standing here today because I have always been strong.

I am standing here because He has always been faithful.

There were things I walked through that probably should have taken me out. Things I never would have chosen for myself. There were seasons that changed me. There were things that hurt deeply and circumstances that forced me to grow in ways I never expected.

But when I look back now, I can see the fingerprints of God throughout my entire story.

He was there when I couldn't see a way forward.

He was there when I was hurting.

He was there when I felt like I had to be strong for everyone else.

He was there when I didn't understand what He was doing.

He was there in the healing.

He was there in the rebuilding.

He was there in the moments when I had to learn to trust Him one day at a time.

And the truth is, I wouldn't be the person I am today without everything He brought me through.

I don't praise God because my life has been perfect.

I praise Him because He has been faithful through every imperfect season.

I don't praise Him because I have never experienced pain.

I praise Him because He met me in the pain.

I don't praise Him because I have always understood what God was doing.

I praise Him because even when I didn't understand, He was still working.

There is a difference between praising God because everything is going right and praising Him because you know who He is—even when everything is going wrong.

When you have seen God carry you through things you never thought you would survive, your praise becomes personal.

When you have experienced His grace in the places where you were weak, your worship becomes deeper.

When you look back and realize that the only explanation for how you made it through is the goodness and faithfulness of God, you don't praise Him casually.

You praise Him because you know what He has done.

I know that everything I have walked through has not been wasted.

God has used my past to shape me, my struggles to strengthen me, my pain to deepen my compassion, and my difficult seasons to teach me how to trust Him more completely.

And I know there are still things I don't understand. There are still prayers I am waiting to see answered. There are still things I have to surrender to God again and again.

But I have learned something along the way:

If God has been faithful before, He will be faithful again.

So if you ever wonder why I praise God the way I do, maybe it is because you don't know the whole story.

You don't know everything He has brought me through.

You don't know all the times He made a way when I couldn't see one.

You don't know all the times He gave me strength when I had none left.

You don't know all the times He protected me, carried me, restored me, and reminded me that I was never truly alone.

But God knows.

And that is enough.

My praise is not based on a perfect life. It is based on a faithful God.

I praise Him because He brought me through what I thought would break me.

I praise Him because He never left me.

I praise Him because He has been faithful in every season.

And I praise Him because when I look back over my life, I can honestly say:

I would not be where I am today without God.

If people knew everything God brought me through, they'd understand why I praise Him the way I do.

And even though they may never know the whole story, God does.

And He is the reason I am still standing.
