Update on T’s Leg

Laser Therapy is going very well. He had two treatments last week and he had his third today. He has one more and then the doc will let us know for certain when he can train and how much. As of yesterday he’s not limping anymore. Yay🙌!!!  That’s a huge step because he’s limped around for the better part of two weeks. It’s good to see him getting on the other side of this so he can get back to training. He’s missed it so much but he’s learned from experience that it pays off to let the body heal when there’s an injury.

Fun Times Celebrating T

He had a pretty good haul considering he couldn’t be with his teammates or friends on his birthday like he would have liked. We spent the weekend celebrating with a gift a day with the exception of when Maw Maw and Tristan came over and they gave him two Nintendo Switch gift cards. We got him three Lego builds and a gaming keyboard. He got a card from his Nan and Popsie as well. He’s using what they gave him to get a gaming mouse. He got to have pizza and  his favorite cupcakes made by one of our homeschooling moms. She really should have her own cupcake shop😋. He’s so enjoyed this birthday inspite of Covid-19. It’s hard to believe that next year we will have a teenager in the house😳.

Happy Birthday T

12 years old today. It’s hard to believe that much time has past. It seems like yesterday I was holding you for the first time. You always make life interesting with your never ending energy, wacky sense of humor, and always looking at things much differently. You love TaeKwonDo🥋 , riding your dirt bike🏍 , doing Lego builds, playing Fortnite, Drawing✍️ (when you have time), playing your guitar🎸 (again when you have time), and eating pizza🍕!  Life is never boring with You. Even though Covd-19 has kept us at home you have kept us on our toes as always. We love your energy and your unique personality that completes our family. You are such an amazing kiddo. Happy Birthday and may you always push yourself and others to make each day brighter and better than the day before. May you always look to God to guide and direct your path as you go through life. We love you to the moon and beyond!!!

Some Quotes Worth Sharing

T’s Appointment (5/5/2020)

T had an appointment with the Chiropractor today. He had knocked his hip out of alignment last week during one of his training sessions. We found that out today at the adjustment. We had not clue the hip was involved. At any rate the hip being out put a strain on his groin muscle which in turn strained his thigh muscle in two places. Our Chiropractor believes in laser therapy and so do we. We saw how it really helped T in October with a similar strain on that same muscle. We are working on helping him realize what it is he’s doing/not doing that causes this to happen so we can try to head this off so that there’s not a next time with this particular injury. Little kids tend to have bad habits though that they have to overcome and having bad habits as an athlete means you’ve got to fix the problem so it doesn’t happen in the future. We are fortunate in that time is on our side right now with this Covid-19 stay at home order in place and the fact that there are no urgent upcoming tournaments to attend. T is chomping at the bit to get back to training though but the doc said that maybe next Thursday T can get back to training and that will all be dependent on how he responds to the laser therapy sessions. Right now he wants him to rest and recover. He has three more laser therapy sessions between now and next Thursday. Praying he respond well to all the treatments and bounces back quickly like he did last time.  Here’s a pic of him pointing at the area where he is feeling the pain:
T will be 12 on Monday and his thighs are pure muscle and they aren’t much smaller than his dads😳.

Earlier Tonight (5/5/2020)

Earlier tonight we got to see our new grand niece via Zoom. Technology is great when you are able to share with the family important moments. We all got to see one another and enjoy watching the newest addition to our family. Such a joy and a blessing. So incredibly thankful to the Lord for this little blessing and that the delivery went well and mom and baby are doing great. Can’t wait until I can see her in person😁.

All Is Well!

In way of an update I just wanted to do a post to let everyone know who follows our blog that we are all well and good.

T has been doing online training with his coaches. Doing school 🏫. We just found out that they aren’t going to require homeschoolers to do end of year testing but we will probably still make T do it because I use it as a measuring stick to know right where we are so I know whether he needs to spend more time learning something before we move forward to new stuff. When he has free time he’s been doing Lego builds, which you have seen our posts about our Lego builds. He’s also been gaming with his friends when he’s not training or doing school. This has been a good rest for us so that we can help T focus more on schoolwork and really learning things he’s struggling with. T can’t wait though to be training with his coach and team in person again. That’s his end goal and focus in all this.

Scot has been still working. Our business is an essential business and so we’ve kept busy. It’s been somewhat slower than we usually are at this time of year but we know that this too shall pass and when our country opens up again the flood gates will open with our business. God has been providing and watching over us and we are incredibly thankful.

I’ve been organizing the house like never before. Going through things and getting rid of things. The house is going to be in such better shape than it’s been for the past couple of years with all of our traveling for T to train with his coach. It’s been such a crazy busy time in our lives that this pause has been welcomed in that it’s given us more time as a family than we’ve had in a long while. You’d think we’d be getting tired of one another but we love and cherish every ounce of time we get to spend together. We’ve learned that time is precious and we should be sure to enjoy the times with have together. Life is crazy busy but God gives us the loved ones in our lives as a gift and they should be cherished and loved.

We have enjoyed watching church every week together as a family. We haven’t had much time for that as of late because of all of our traveling but having more time to be able to watch church service together instead of separately has been nice. More time to study the Word of God has been so nice too. I’ve been able to read and study more and have so loved being able to do that instead of running to and fro so much.

Since being on the stay at home order from the Coronavirus we’ve been able to tackle some tasks at home too that have needed attention so that’s been very nice to be able to get some things off of our to do lists. Before this is all over we really will be near to having our house in order. An orderly clean home puts me in my happy place. With a dog, son, and husband that’s a hard thing to accomplish that’s for sure but we are getting close to that now and I love it. When we can get in a groove of keeping things the way they should be it makes life so much easier for when things open back up for us to be able to go and do.

We are so thankful for all that God is doing in the midst of all this pandemic. We will be so glad when it’s over but regardless we look to God for His guidance in our lives and we continue on and press forward because of His presence in our lives. Life isn’t worth living without God in the center of it. He’s the reason for everything!!!  We love you Lord!!!

I pray this update finds you all well and good as well. We love you all and are thankful for our followers, family, and friends who are always so supportive of us.  God Bless You All!!!
