USA Taekwondo Training Camp…

T is having a great time at the training camp. He’s learning a lot and getting before the Olympic Coach which is always an awesome honor and experience to have as an athlete.

He’s ready for round two of the camp now that he’s had a lunch break and had his favorite Swedish Meatballs from IKEA. Going back to do some shopping while he’s in session two since it’s only a 5 minute drive away.

USA Taekwondo Academy Camp This Weekend…

So we will be heading to Charlotte later today and staying with a friend tonight and tomorrow night while T attends this camp. Here’s the letter we received from USA TKD.

So as you have read we won’t be able to be at any of the Saturday sessions and we will only be allowed at the Sunday session so I don’t know how many if any pictures I will be able to get. T is so looking forward to this camp. In preparing for it I thought it might be advisable for him to put his hair up so it doesn’t get in his face. He is not a fan of doing this but I wanted you to see what it looked like.

All the fighters with long hair wear their hair this way but T isn’t a fan. He may not have a choice though if his hair won’t stay in his headgear. He has to be able to see to be able to fight. Just saying.

USA Team Trials Update....

T qualified to do team trials this year but we just found out yesterday where those team trials are going to be held.  We were all under the impression that it was going to be happening here in NC but it's not.  Because of recent events in our lives here I don't think doing team trials is going to be something we can do.  I hate it for T because he's worked so hard but we have to weigh things in light of all that we are dealing with here at home, with the business, and if it really is beneficial for T to do too.  If he were to go to this event he would have to fight as a first year Junior fighter fighting 17 year olds in his same weight division with 2 1/2 more years maturity/experience on him.  We are proud of all he's accomplished but his and our desire is to keep him moving forward in this sport and staying home and training more and doing local, drivable, events will be better for him rather than taking major trips for these larger tournaments where he will be dealing with the age/maturity/experience level difference all year as a first year Junior fighter.  This is where we are thinking currently.  We are still digesting it all and trying to figure the best path for T moving forward before we make any knee jerk decisions though.  Just wanted to share where we were in our thoughts about it all though.  We will see how God guides us moving forward.  We are always in much prayer when making these kind of decisions in regards to T and this sport he loves so much.

Update on Me and the Vehicle Situation...

With every chiropractor appointment I'm feeling better.  It's like one step forward and two steps back saying though.  I feel good for a day or two then start hurting again just before I'm due to go to the next chiropractor appointment.  It's a lot of up and down like a yo-yo right now but the chiropractor assures me that I will keep improving and feel much better in a couple of weeks.  Regardless though, whatever life throws at you you have to make the most of it and deal with it as it comes or else you're not truly living.  That's what we are doing.

Since the accident when I'm in a vehicle I am hyper focused on everything going on around me.  Especially other drivers.  Almost every driver we pass on the road is distracted and looking at their cell phones while driving.  It's nuts.  And while T was taking drivers ed class the week I had my accident the teacher told them all that the majority of distracted driving accidents that are happening today is because of the invention of a little device that we carry in our pocket/purses...the cell phone.  She made a point of driving home how incredibly dangerous it is to be looking at your cell phone while driving.  When I got hit while I was at a full stop at a red light the guy that hit me was probably on said device.  I totally get what the teacher was saying to them.  She also said that your parents didn't have these little distractions when they were learning to drive.  She's right too.  Lot's less distractions back then and not near as many accidents as are happening today.

We are currently in a rental vehicle and I have to say that I've never been as found of having car play in your vehicle as I am now.  My cell phone is always stored away because apple car play makes it possible for you to be totally and completely hands free in your car.  The map app I use shows up on the vehicles screen.  My music playlist is on the screen too.  I never have to look down or away while I'm driving because I can control things from my steering wheel.  It's pretty awesome to have but it won't be in our wheelhouse to buy it if we have to get another vehicle.

Which leads me to this...We finally got our vehicle in to a shop that we know and trust and got an estimate from them.  We went in already knowing they generally run high on their estimates but we wanted something to have to gauge other estimates we get by.  The problem that we have is our van is old.  14 years old to be exact.  According to the estimate we got it will be turned in as a total loss.  We go Friday to one of the shops the insurance company works with to see what they say.  Scot is being more positive thinking about this for sure.  I've been being proactive and searching to see what we are looking at to get another van for the business and to say I've been even more stressed in seeing what's out there and the $$$ it will cost is an understatement.  It frustrates me to no end to think about how this guy is going to cost us more money if they total our vehicle.  We don't need, nor can we really afford, another car payment. I'm not sure what we are going to do but Scot and I both are fully aware that we have to have another vehicle.  It's a need and not a want but the paying for that need is something neither of us is thrilled about because it will cut into the budget big time.  But that is where we are on the vehicle situation anyhow.

I'm going to take a break here shortly because my chiropractor wants my time in front of the screen to be in short spurts with lots of breaks to rest so I can heal more quickly.

Our Business Website...

Scot and I have been working every moment that we can on our website to improve it and make it more noticeable on the web.  He's been doing a ton of SEO to the site.  I don't really understand SEO but it is what drives people to the site so he's been doing a ton of that.  I've been taking care of aesthetics which is a fancy way of saying I've been making it look nice...LOL!  I have to do everything in short segments since my car accident because sitting too long in front of the computer and working makes my neck and shoulders hurt a lot. I'm having to work a little then take a break for a bit and come back and work a little again.  It's frustrating but I'm dealing so that we can get things accomplished and done.  Take a look at what has been done so far at www.acleansolutionnc.com.  It is still a work in progress but looking better everyday.  Here's a picture of what the home page looks like when you go to it.

Training Earlier Today…

I was able to get some pics of T training today. He is loving 🥰 being back. He is looking so sharp considering he has been out of it for two months. It’s almost like he’s not missed a day of training.  Enjoy the pics.

T Playing Beat Saber On His VR!

T loves playing this game on his VR headset. It’s one of his favorite things to do outside of Taekwondo. Check out the video he made. He had help from one of his fellow gamers.

2022 Homeschool Yearbook Finally Came…

T finally received his homeschool yearbook from last school year. It did not disappoint and was worth the extra wait. He is so happy to finally have it in hand and can’t wait to share it with the family when he sees them in a couple of weeks.

So Sad😞😞😞…This is what our world is coming to😞😞😞

A friend of mine shared this on Facebook and I wanted to share it here with you. What he’s saying is true. Don’t believe him or me but do the research yourself like he suggests. So sad 😞😞😞.

Another Update On Me...

I'm going for my third chiropractor appointment tomorrow since the accident and with each visit I feel even better.  I'm still having some pain but not nearly as excruciating as it was.  So thankful for my chiropractor right now and that I was doing maintenance visits with him all these years.  He said had I not already been doing that I could've been hurt much worse than I was.  He is so amazing and we are so thankful as a family for all his knowledge and keeping us at our optimum health all these years.  It is my prayer that I'm back to where I was before the accident in four weeks and that it won't take the full eight weeks.  This pic was taken before the accident.
