Flight Day

Such a late night last night and early morning this morning. We got everything packed for our trip. We’ve had very little time to process and grieve Dexter’s death. We are sitting at the airport waiting for time to board. Hoping to be able to sleep on the flight. Need for my stomach to settle from being so upset yesterday. We love our pets immensely. Dexter was a very loved and spoiled puppy dog.  While we are looking forward to US Open we are all processing from yesterday. So is Tucker. He’s been looking for his buddy. MawMaw will be watching him while we are gone. We are praying he does well with us gone and while adjusting to Dexter gone as well. I hated to have to make the decision we did yesterday and to leave Tucker in the midst of such a change to him as well but it couldn’t be helped. This will be T’s first time to US Open and it will be an awesome learning experience for him. We are looking forward to all we are going to learn on this trip. It will be educational for T as well because we are going to be going to visit the Hoover Dam and tour it as well. It will be something fun to do and we all need that right now.

Dexter is in Heaven

Our boy, Dexter, is in a better place.  We had to put him down today because he was suffering so much from lung cancer of all things. We were still grieving the loss of Grand Master Cann because of cancer and now we had to lay our dog to rest because of cancer.  To say we have a deep hatred for cancer is putting it lightly but we know we made the right decision for Dexter because he was suffering so bad. He couldn’t hardly walk and he’s breathing was so labored. He kept trying to get away from us outside so we know he was trying to get away so he could just pass on. At least he’s not suffering anymore but it doesn’t make his loss any less. He was a great dog and a big part of our family and he will always be missed.

US Open 2019

We fly in the morning to go to Vegas for US Open.  The excitement is building big time!  T has trained so hard for this moment. T’s coach flies today. Scot is on his way to the airport to drop him off. We are praying for the best experience for T his first time to this event. And whether he wins or learns he gets ranking points and those are valuable. If he beats someone who’s ranked higher than he is he will get strength factor ranking points and he has two that are ranked higher than he is. We are praying he beats them and gets those points as well. T medaling at this prestigious event would be huge!  It’s our hope and prayer that he does. But whether he does or not we are still so proud of him because what he’s doing in this sport is a big deal. He’s accomplished so much already. Keep us in your prayers for safe travels, for our health to stay strong, for T to do well at the tourney and for no injuries. Thanks.

T Visiting Grand Master Cann’s Gravesite

T insisted all day today that he had to visit her gravesite because he missed the graveside service because of  a TaeKwonDo Competition. She would’ve wanted him competing. He honored her well at the competition. And him getting to visit today brought some much needed closure for him.

Health Update

I have finally turned a corner this week with all this crud I’ve had and am feeling so much better. I still have a little bit of crud going on and when I say little I mean like a tiny bit. We fly out Tuesday for the US Open Tournament in Vegas. T’s first time to the big show. We are all excited. Praying he does great at this tournament and shocks the socks off all his opponents in the process. It would delight us to no end if he were able to bring home a medal from this event. It’s a really tough event so we will see. Either way we’ll know how much harder we’ll have to work to prepare for next year. Win or learn he’ll be earning valuable ranking points. He’s improved so much in his sparring since last year this time and improves even more with each training session he does. We are so proud of all he’s accomplishing. Such a well rounded kid. He loves God, is a good student, can play guitar, and he loves TKD and especially sparring. Looking forward to all this fight season holds for him as he continues to train and get even more better with each passing month leading up to Nationals in July. Pray we all stay healthy as we support our son on his TKD journey to reach his goals.

GA AAU Qualifier Forms 2019

Here’s a video of his Forms. I was surprised when he got Gold because he messed up a little doing his Forms. I was expecting Silver from the judges but because he did the Form for his belt level and the other kid didn’t is why he got Gold.

Yesterday’s Training

Timothy is learning a lot in such a short period of time along with doing his schooling. He is doing better everyday at mananging it all. Here’s a snippet of a training video I took from yesterday.
