T’s 2019 Georgia AAU Qualifier Match

T only had to fight the 1st round and a partial of the 2nd round instead of the full three rounds because he point gapped his opponent. What that means is that when an opponent gets a 20 point lead over another in a match they stop the fight and award the one who point gapped the win. I’m sharing Raw Footage of the fight. T is in the red chest gear. Check out the video:

GA AAU Qualifier (Forms)

T got gold in Forms. A double gold day today. He dedicated it all to Grand Master Cann. Even though she is missed greatly T wants to bring her honor in all his events this year. He also wanted to honor Master Amy who has been instrumental in getting him ready for his Forms. His forms have come a long way because of her. He’s getting so incredibly sharp because of Master Amy. 

Georgia AAU State Qualifier (Sparring Portion)

T point gapped his opponent in less than a minute into the 2nd round of what was supposed to be a 3 round match and brought home gold today.  Score was 21-0.  His first words were that was for Grand Master Cann. He’s dedicated his fighting season to her this year. 

Grand Master Cann’s Wake Service

Timothy got to pay his respects to GMaster Cann tonight at her Wake service. He and several students and Masters got to do a final bow to an amazing Grand Master and woman.  She is greatly missed but she lives on in the lives of every student and Master her life touched. She will always be with us in spirit. Timothy is dedicating this fight season in her honor. Win or Learn he’s going to fight his best in honor of her. First two pics are from USAT GA State Championship last year where Timothy won Gold.  Last pic was taken in August. 

Happy Valentine’s Day

We wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. We hope you have a great time celebrating with those you love. Life is so precious so be sure to make an extra special effort today to show those you love just how much you love them. 

Grand Master Cann’s Obituary

Timothy was her last recruit for the Carolina Kicks Sparring Team before she was diagnosed with cancer in Aug/Sept 2018. This picture of Timothy was taken January 2019. When I shared it with Grand Master Cann her response was now he looks like a real fighter and not a fashion boy...LOL! 

Health Update

So after the SET Tournament I came down sick with a bad cold that turned quickly into a bacterial sinus infection. After several meds I finally turned a corner but never got back to 100%. I went back to the doctor yesterday to find out that I’m dealing with bronchitis. She has me on a new med regimen that we are praying works in short order because we have a tournament this weekend as well as US Open just around the corner. 

Today T woke with a stuffy nose so we are hitting him with everything we can to boost his immune system so he bounces back quickly. He’s been blowing his nose a lot today. Nothing else seems to be bothering him other than his sinuses though. We are praying he bounces back quickly because we have Grand Master Cann’s Wake to go on Friday then we have to head to GA for a tournament. Be praying for him to be feeling better quickly. 

We are figuring he picked up something from his regular TKD class last night because I’m not contagious. He did leadership with the little kids and he said they were all coughing and sneezing. Regardless we deal with things as they come and move forward because there’s no time for letting junk keep us down.
