Registered for the Grand Prix Final @ -49kg...

T is officially registered and going to the Grand Prix Final in Concord, NC and in a new weight division as well.  He will weigh in on the 16th and fight the 17th.  If he medals he will get to fight at team trials in January 2023 in the new weight division of -48kg for Jr's.  We have weighed him up a weight division because he's a last year cadet and will be a first year Jr next year.  The weight divisions unfortunately aren't even between the age groups.  Cadets -49kg and Jr's -48kg.  T all but begged us to make this change.  He wants to start getting experience now and see where he lands by weighing up a division.  He wants to start working things out now so that he can fight at his best when it counts next year.  He really won't have many tournaments after this one for the remainder of the year though.  It will give him time to train and get ready for what lies ahead.  T is so excited for what lies ahead and he loves his new school and coach and the freedom he has to weigh in, pun intended, on his wants and desires moving forward.  He never felt that he could do that with his last coach.  He felt stuck and didn't see any way of making his goals happen because he didn't feel he had a voice like he does now.  It is our prayer that, although his new coach, Master Doug, has a relationship with his old coach, Master Wasiu, that his new coach stays how he is now.  It's been very beneficial for T and made such a huge difference in our son.  He's the happiest he's been since GMaster Cann died.
