Father's Day in Kentucky...

We had such a wonderful time in Kentucky with our family.  We cherish every moment that we get to spend with them.  Here are a couple of pictures that I took with my phone.  I have to download the ones from my camera when I get a chance and post them as well.

USA Taekwondo Nationals...

Well T is registered for the event and he has 13 competitors in his division for Nationals.  He weighs in on July 8th and Fights July 9th.  I know that number of competitors may seem like a low number but those 13 are just like T, the best of the best.  They are the elite fighters of the division and they are all very good including T.  We've had lots of conversations with T in recent weeks reiterating to him that he is just as good if not better than his competitors.  He is an elite fighter.  From this point on there will be no novice/chump fighters in his division.  His mind is in a great place.  Physically he is looking amazing.  He and his coach are such an amazing team.  I love to see them working/training together.  He is training hard at home and with the team to get ready for Nationals.  We are praying that he brings home a medal so that he can compete at the Grand Prix Final in September/October time frame.  He has to medal in order to be able to do that event.  So keep him in your prayers that God gives him uncommon strength, speed and wisdom as he fights at Nationals so that he medals and will be able to move on to the next event.  Pray also that his coach is able to help keep him calm and focused so that he can guide him to the wins that he needs in order to move forward.  Thank you.

Happy Father's Day....

My dad past on many years ago.  Although he wasn't the father he should have been to his children I still loved him away.  May he rest in peace.

God knows what we need during those formative years growing up though and what my dad couldn't be for me while I was growing up I had in a fantastic father figure who loved me as if I were one of his own children.  He wasn't just a father figure but my pastor and the man who led me to Christ at the young age of 12 years old.  I have always referred to him as Dad.  I was a life that was blessed by God when He brought John Gordon into my life.  He and his wife, Anne (aka Mom), will always be my 2nd parents.  My godly parents.  The ones who always pointed me to Christ every step of the way when I was growing up.  I still stay in touch with them to this day.

Then there's my amazing husband who is the best father ever!  I love the relationship that he and our son, T, have.  It's something I wanted so desperately growing up from my own father but never had.  It blesses my heart so much to watch them together.  He guides and leads him so wonderfully.  My heart overflows because I get to watch their relationship grow and get better every year.

Scot is the father he is because of his Dad!  My father-in-law, Franklin Neal (aka Popsie), is amazing.  He loves his family immensely.  He loves the Lord the same.  He is a wealth of knowledge that I could never unravel here as I write this post.  He is the best Popsie ever to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

To say that my life has been blessed immensely is an understatement.  What I was missing in my childhood God has given back to me in John Gordon, who showed me how a father should be to his children leading by example.  In Franklin Neal, who is so loving and puts his family above everything except God in his life.  And lastly in my husband who is an amazing dad to our son but also an amazing husband to me.  I'm thankful to God everyday for the blessings in my life!

Happy Father's Day!

My Dad!

Driving Mom Home after Celebration Dinner…

T drove us home tonight after we had a celebration dinner for his straight A’s again. My boy is becoming a very good responsible driver. So proud of the progress that he’s making. We’ve had many talks this past week after a friend of mine was in a terrible accident and a 13 year old lost their life. Then another young lady a couple days later had a fatal accident and lost her life at 20 years old. Many many talks about safe driving habits and watching out for the other knuckleheads on the road as well.

T is Almost Done with School…

T still has a little bit of math to do then his EOG’s next week and he will be done with school for the year. He has been working hard to get things done. Here’s his report card for the subjects he’s completed.

This report card is generated from the classes he takes through AOP Monarch Online. I will have an official one to share once he’s totally done.
