RIP Oak Tree

The week prior to the hurricane we thought our tall Oak took a lightning strike. It most definitely did which weakened it for the hurricane to take off the top portion of our beautiful Oak and put it on the ground. It took several branches from another tree with it and busted our light pole as well which Duke had to come repair. What a couple of weeks it’s been. Poor Oak. We keep losing our Oaks and Pines😕.

Most of the big stuff is all burned up now. Took four days so far. Hoping tomorrow we can get the rest of our big stuff taken care of.  It’s been four years with several storms (including thunder storms 🌩, tornadoes 🌪, and hurricanes) that have taken one tree after another out. We are definitely so far past over having to clean up tree damage all the time. And we still have probably 10 big Oaks on the ground in our wooded areas that will take $20,000 to take care of that came down during a tornado 🌪 that came through a while back. Needless to say they just lay for now because that ain’t in the budget. There are more important things that we need to do with our money. At some point it will get taken care. For now we do our part to clean up all that we can ourselves. The cleanup never ends for us but it feels good when we get to where we are seeing that we are making headway in what we are trying to get accomplished. #thesearethedaysofourlives
