Verse of the Day...

Our heart - our feelings of love and desire - dictates to a great extent how we live because we always find time to do what we enjoy.  Solomon tells us to guard our heart about all else, making sure we concentrate on those desires that will keep us on the right path.  Make sure your affections push you in the right direction.  Put boundaries on your desires; don't go after everything you see.  Look straight ahead, keep your eyes fixed on your goal, and don't get sidetracked on detours that lead to sin.

I saw this posted and wanted to share my thoughts.

I have always loved Rod. He’s one of my favorite players from back in the day. His coaching has gotten us into the playoffs many times but hasn’t produced a Stanley Cup Win. It’s disappointing but does it mean he should be replaced?

Is what’s in the picture above the answer? I don’t know. Could switching the coach produce a Stanley Cup Win? It possibly could or it could send the team spiraling so far downwards that it will be hard to recover from as well.

Everyone wants to put the blame on either the goalie, the coach, or the refs all the time but it’s a team sport and they all share in the blame when they lose. Sometimes in the heat of everything the refs get in the way of puck play. It happens. Get over it.

Plain and simple - Florida outplayed us. They are a more cohesive team on the ice than we are. When we’re really on there’s nothing better. These last two games I feel they left it all on the ice. They did their best and came up short. Florida is just that team. That is all.

Parents, Support Your Athlete...

"Parental support is essential for the success and growth of young athletes! Parents who attend their kids sport, encourage their kid and provide emotional support. They also help build confidence and motivation in their kid(s). Parental support can influence the discipline and dedication of a young athlete, which can in turn improve their performance in sports.
As a parent we can show our support in many ways, such as:
- Attend trainings and tournaments/meets/games to encourage our kid(s).
- Help our kid(s) set goals and objectives in sports.
- Encourage a positive and respectful attitude towards their coach(es), teammates and opponents.
- Provide a supportive and stimulating environment at home.
- Celebrate our kid's achievements and progress, no matter how small they are.
By showing our support, we can help our kid(s) develop important skills such as discipline, perseverance, and self-confidence, which will serve them throughout their lives. ". ~Author Unknown

Verse of the Day...

There are days when the last thing we want to do is rejoice.  Our mood is down, our situation is out of hand, and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming.  We can relate to the writers of the psalms who often felt this way.  But no matter how low the psalmists felt, they were always honest with God.  And as they talked to God, their prayers ended in praise.  When you don't feel like rejoicing, tell God how you truly feel.  You will find that God will give you a reason to rejoice.  God has given you this day to live and to serve Him - be glad!  Listen to the song by clicking the link below:

10th Grade Report Card...

Here's Tim's 10th Grade Report Card.  His 11th will be posted by the end of the summer.

This Happened Yesterday...

Yesterday we traveled to Hickory to buy some more equipment for Tim's home gym that we are planning to build first chance that we get.  A friend of ours was selling it for a fraction of what they were worth.  It was a really great deal and we were so thankful for the blessing and prayed blessings upon her and her family as well for giving us such a great deal.  We now have a wall Rogue Rack, Bands that go with the rack, a Reverse Hyper & a lifting floor.  When I say we got it for a fraction of what it's worth it was a fantastic deal.

These pictures below are not my pictures but they are of the actual equipment that we picked up...

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Today we pause to remember those who have given their all for our freedom.  Today we give thanks for those who died in service to our country.  Each year at this time I think about my husbands 2nd cousin who served and gave his life in service to our country.  Check out this picture below and click on it to make it bigger so that you can read what's written on it.

We need to always remember and never ever forget!!!

Quote of the Day...

Verse of the Day...

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
And take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me
