AAU Virginia State Championship 2022

Today at AAU Virginia State Championship T won Silver🥈. His first fight was a point gap win of 38-4. Second fight was the gold/silver round and T fought an incredible young man he’s fought before. Last time they fought the opponent beat T 22-0. T couldn’t score any points on him. This time T fought him better even though he still won with a 22-9 score. This particular young man helps push T to be better. Much respect👊. T has such great coaches. Much thanks to Master Douglas who helped train and coach T for the fights today. A huge thanks also goes out to Master Wasiu as well because he pours so much time into training and coaching our son too. Much respect to both Masters👊.  There are so many others to thank that help T in other ways as well that contribute to what he does in this sport. Much respect to you all as well👊.

We are so proud of all T is accomplishing as he continues to move forward in this sport. We enjoy every competition with him. Being an elite competitor doesn’t last forever though so we enjoy every moment with him as he makes great memories. Whenever he decides he’s done and wants to move on to doing other things then we’ll move on. Until then we enjoy the journey he’s on with this sport. It’s been one heck of a fun and crazy busy ride so far even though the “vid” has made it harder to do this sport.

We will post pics and videos as soon as I can get them all uploaded.

Van Back on the Road Again

Scot did such an amazing job getting the van fixed. It was a lot to get done. It is functional now and that’s all that matters. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the black bumper looks too.

3rd Year Anniversary 😞😔😢

We didn’t want this day to pass us by without coming out and bringing GMaster Cann flowers and paying our respects. Looks like many others had the same idea as we did. We love you and miss so very much GMaster Cann. You were such a dear friend and a great TaeKwonDo Grand Master. #RIP #alwaysremembering #neverforgetting

Sparring Training 2/5/2022

Here’s another video of the training this past weekend. Lots of sparring rounds were done. Saturday’s session wasn’t as good for T as it was Friday. Lots of learning and growing going on for these kids right now. USAT Grand Prix will be in June sometime. We are waiting to hear where it will be held and the date and time right now. USAT Nationals will be the end of July. They have a lot to accomplish before these two big tournaments. T is back to doing privates with his coach. He has a body coach too to help. Between his TaeKwonDo coaches and the body coach training T is hoping to make up for the time he lost last year by doing well this year. Enjoy the video.

T’s Injury From the Training Camp

When T was sparring Sunday he got kicked pretty hard in the upper thigh/hip area. He’s continued to be in pain so we set up a chiropractor appointment for him.

Well, T went to the chiropractor today. He had 3 places out in his hip. 2 in his low back. 1 place on each knee.  3 places on one of his shoulders. His hip was the area that was causing him the most pain though. T had gotten kicked in just the right way to knock it out in 3 places causing him quite a bit of pain. He kept trying to alleviate the pain by trying to do hip stretches and rotations but nothing he did seemed to make it any better.  Now he’s been told no training for 2 days to allow what the chiropractor did to set because if he doesn’t he could pop it right back out.

As with any sport recovery time is so very important. Now he’s forcefully having to take recovery time. At least everything is back where it’s supposed to be and he’s feeling so much better. It was night and day difference once he was adjusted.

USAT’s Video of Day 2 & 1 of the Training Camp

This is USAT’s video of day 2 &1. You’ll see T in them in 1 or 2 places but it will give you a good idea of all that went on at the event over the weekend. The main event was Sparring but they had Forms and Referee training going on in their other room as well.
