Athletic Lab Weightlifting Team - Jan. 2024 - Charlotte Triple Crown

Tim did a 74kg Snatch and a 90kg Clean & Jerk at the 2024 Athletic Lab Spring Open Meet on 4.6.2024. He got Gold and made new Meet PR's too.

~Lisa, Scot, & Tim: I'm a stay at home mom. I love Jesus, my husband (Scot), and my son (Tim). We are homeschoolers. My husband and I run our own carpet and rug cleaning business. Our son has transitioned from doing competitive Taekwondo to doing competitive Weightlifting. Our lives are busy and we live them to the fullest fully supporting one another in all we do. Most importantly we look to God who is the author and finisher of our Faith! He’s our reason for living! Because of that our motto is, “As for me and my house, we will walk with God and do His Will!”

Athletic Lab Spring Open 4/2024

Tim won Gold in -61kg Youth weight division. He did a 74kg Snatch + 90kg C&J = 164kg total. He had a Meet PR! Such a fun day!

Charlotte Carolina Triple Crown 1/2024

This was a Team Meet but if it had been an Individual Meet Tim would have brought home Gold! He had Meet PR's of Snatch 60kg + Clean & Jerk 75kg = 135kg Total. Tim is going hard after his goals with this sport. Next up will be the Athletic Lab Spring Classic Meet in April. He's really looking forward to this one since it's being held at his teams gym.

December Online Qualifier 2023

Tim competed in the December Online Qualifier to get qualified for Nationals. He had to get a total of 130kg and ended up doing a total of 132kg. He did a 57kg Snatch + 75kg Clean&Jerk = 132kg Total. These were Official PR's for him. We were able to go ahead and sign Tim up for Nationals in June. Weightlifting caps their events so you have to sign up early if you want to do an event. Next up is the Charlotte Triple Crown Meet towards the end of January.

Carolinas WSO Championship Gold Medalist 10/2023

First Weightlifting Meet and Tim brings home Gold with a 40kg Snatch + 53kg Clean & Jerk = 93kg Total. Now he gets ready for the December Online Qualifier mid December time frame. We are so proud of him! He really loves this sport.

Tim's Last TaeKwonDo Accomplishment 2023!

Tim is #14 in the country in the -51kg Junior Division!!! As a 1st/Last year fighter in that division that was a very respectable place to land. Being in the top 20 in our country is huge!

Tim & Master Issoufou

Master Issoufou was a Silver Medalist at Rio 2016 Olympics! He was also a Gold Medalist at the 2017 World Taekwondo Championships in Muju, South Korea! He is still fighting and will represent his country at Worlds this year!

USAT Grand Prix Final 2022 Bronze Medalist

The Grand Prix Final is an invite only event. You get the invite by medaling at the regular Grand Prix Tournaments. T fought in -49kg at this event which was up a weight division. He qualified for Team Trials in January but will not be doing Team Trials as he will be a first year Jr. Fighter. Now T works hard for being a 1st year Jr. fighter.

2022 Last Year Cadet Accomplishments

T changed 3 weight divisions in one year. AAU NC/SC -40kg Gold Medalist. AAU VA -40kg Silver Medalist. USAT East Grand Prix -45kg Silver Medalist. USAT Grand Prix Finals -49kg Bronze Medalist. He also earned an invite to Team Trials but because he's now a 1st year Jr. he won't be attending.

Tribute to one of Tim's Grand Masters

This past February 2019 (2/10/2029) T lost Grand Master Cann to lung cancer. It's not been easy continuing on without her but he's doing his best to honor her memory in his competitions. She will never be forgotten!!!

Always Remembering!!!

Mr. Adam Perry passed away on July 14, 2020. Died from accidental carbon-monoxide poisoning. He was a great friend and our sons best buddy's, Blayden, dad. T feels his missing presence every time he takes TaeKwonDo classes at Black Belt World. #gonebutneverforgotten

Heaven's Gain Our Loss

Louise Holcomb Speckhart, 51, entered into her Heavenly home on Thursday, January 11, 2024. I take comfort in knowing that we will see one another in Heaven someday. This hymn has been on my mind since her passing. "When We All Get To Heaven": Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, Sing His mercy and His grace; In the mansions bright and blessed He'll prepare for us a place. When we all get to Heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, We'll sing and shout the victory! While we walk the pilgrim pathway, Clouds will overspread the sky; But when trav'ling days are over, Not a shadow, not a sigh.
