Update on USAT VA

Well, last night weigh in was a disaster. This morning when we got to the school for the tournament the doors were supposed to open at 8am. We stood outside until between 8:30-9 waiting for doors to open. T was supposed to be in holding at 10am. It’s 11:47 as I write this post and they are in holding but T’s age and weight division still hasn’t been called yet. Who knows when he will actually hit the mat to fight. Here’s a picture of T’s bracket:

We don’t know the first kid he’s fighting at all. He’s hoping to make it past the first and to get to fight the Thomas kid second round. The Thomas kid is who beat him at US Open. T is hungry to fight him again. Looking forward to seeing how everything shakes out in his division today. Dre is getting his first experience coaching today without his Master present. Hoping to get some great pictures and video today. Pray for both T and Dre that they have fun today, that T fights hard, and that they both come away from this experience learning something that will help them grow in this sport. Thank you to all who are praying for these guys.

T is Weighed in for USAT VA

T made weight. He fights in the minus 30 kilos which is 66 pounds and under. He was weighing 64.3 pounds when he weighed in. Woohoo!!!

The weigh in process though was fixing to make me loose me mind!   They were so unorganized. For this very administrative gal that was no good!!!  We are just glad it’s over and we’ve had dinner.

Now I’m ready to get back to the hotel and I’m praying they have the Carolina Hurricanes hockey game on one of their tv stations.

Next Tournament Coming Up

T’s next tournament is coming up this Saturday. He heads to Virginia on Friday for weigh in and fights Saturday. This time he has 8 opponents. Including him makes 9 that will be in his age and weight division.

Life is certainly busy. There’s never a dull moment. Keep us and T in your prayers as we have a lot going on from now until after Nationals with training and tournaments.

Mike and Popsie (Frank) after the Graveside Service at Mike's Home

Mike is Popsie's younger brother.  Sandy (who went to be with the Lord) is Mike's wife.  Thank you all for your condolences and prayers during this time of loss for our family.  It has been so appreciated.

A Few Extra Pictures from Easter 2019

Here are a couple extra pics that I was able to get of family members with our newest family member Victorie.  She's such a beautiful baby girl and we all love her to pieces.

Easter Pictures Taken at Church in Kentucky 2019

Although we hated the reason for the trip to Kentucky with Scot's Aunt Sandy going to be with the Lord we did enjoy some quality time with family.  Here are some pictures that were taken at church on Easter Sunday.

Easter Pictures This Far

Sandy Neal Laid to Rest & Happy Resurrection Day

We laid Sandy Neal to rest yesterday. The graveside service was beautiful. The casket cover was gorgeous. I got a picture of it to share with you. After the graveside service we went back to Uncle Mikes house and spent some quality time with him. It was precious time spent with family. I hate it was under the circumstances that it was but it was cherished time nonetheless.

What a wonderful thing it is that she is spending her first Easter in heaven, getting to see her Lord and hearing, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”  She is also being reunited with her son who passed a couple of years back. Sandy loved the Lord and served in her church and went on mission trips with the BGEA (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association). Laura Neal said, “She gave till her body couldn’t give any more.” She had a big heart and shared her faith with anyone and everyone. What a legacy this awesome lady has left behind. I (Lisa) only wish I had known her better. The time I did meet her she left an indelible impression on me. After this weekend I got to see that she probably never met anyone that she didn’t leave an indelible impression on. She was well known in her home town. And as I’m seeing she was a proper “Lady”. She taught her daughter in law how to be a proper lady. What a legacy because there are two granddaughters who are also being taught how to be proper ladies as a result. This wasn’t the end for Sandy Neal though. Only the beginning. And one day we will see her again. Heaven is our home and we are just travelers here on this earth serving the Lord until He returns or we go to be with Him like Sandy did. What a joy it is to know our future home is even better than anything we can imagine in our wildest dreams. It’s better than the best we’ve ever experienced here on earth. How wonderful it is that we have that to look forward to.

Thank you God for your love and kindness and mercy on us. Thank you that our future home is with you. Thank you for sending your son to prepare a place for us. Thank you that this weekend especially we get to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I can’t put it any better than Dolly Parton does in this song,
