Lindsey Corrigan - USAT Olympic Hopeful

Lindsey was a resident athlete in the USAT program. A program that once upon a time our son desired to be a part of. His big goal was to represent the US at the Olympics someday. His goals have changed over the years with the ebbs and flows of doing this sport. I’m actually glad he no longer wants to be a part of the Olympic team anymore after reading what this young lady shared in the clips below.

What amazing courage this young lady, Lindsey, has shown to be so blunt and so honest about her experience. It’s also sad because this is what our Olympic hopefuls are dealing with. If it’s not this then it’s countless injuries that they are being encouraged to just push through and keep going.

Our son loves this sport but he will not ever again do it at the expense of his mental/physical health. Ever!  I applaud this young lady.  Our motto is “Do your best and leave the results in Gods hands!” At the end of the day that should be enough.  For some coaches though it’s not. They push and push and push and anything short of a gold medal means you lost. You’re not a winner. That is not the message we are giving our son or letting anyone else give our son anymore. In any sport these athletes should definitely aim for Gold but if they don’t quite get it that doesn’t make them any less of a winner. Because to get out there and do what they do on a daily basis is huge and way bigger than any gold medal they could ever earn.  I applaud 👏 all athletes. You do so much more than what others get to see and it should be recognized and applauded and appreciated more often.  You are all amazing young people.

Here’s Lindsey’s post from Instagram:

With posts like this that are put on social media we have very candid conversations with our son about this stuff. We talk about everything with him. We make sure his mind is in the right place.

This sport is not easy. Many of the coaches are very hard and tough. It’s the nature of the sport. It also sends a wrong message to parents that are trying to help their kids be the best they can be in this sport. There’s a ton of abuses that do go on though and those are what we try to be direct with T about.

T is in such a great place right now with his new coach/master. His mind is good. His body is healthy.  His “want to” is strong 💪 again. He’s thriving with his new coach/master and we couldn’t be more happy. Seeing him genuinely happy means the world to us as parents. It’s really all we want for him.   #GodsPlanistheOnlyPlan

#TBT (Throw Back Thursday)...

Just wanted to take a step back in time and show you some pics of times gone by when T was a crazy adorable cute chunk of a little boy.  It feels like it was a lifetime ago but it has only been 10 years.

Our "New" Letterhead...

We are now using this design for our company letterhead.  It's crisp and sharp.   I went through several renditions to get to this one and Scot seemed to really like it.  I will play some more, of course, and see what else I come up with but for now this is what we will be using when we email our clients.  You may have to click on the photo to see all of it.

T-Shirt….

This is what the design will look like when we order tshirts. Gotta find a company that won’t change an arm and a leg to get them printed though. That’s not been an easy task. On Cuatom Ink just for like 30 shirts it’s $620. Scot has to have enough for 3 a day. Then some for T and me too for when we work with him which has been a lot here recently.

The design sure looks sharp on tshirts. So thankful for my friend, Donna, for doing this design for us. She’s amazing.

Quitting Is Not An Option!

Quitting is not an option is a motto we go by not only for T's TaeKwonDo but life as well.  We say this all the time in many situations that have come up in our life.  Challenges come but Quitting Is Not An Option.  If you don't make it an option it never will be an option no matter where you go or what you do in this life.  I love these verses but had never read this translation of it and now I can tell T see it's in the Bible.  This version just really brings these verses home.

Life has thrown us many curve balls but we always remember and tell ourselves, "Quitting Is Not An Option!"  Through everything God has been good and gracious to us even though we don't deserve it.  I'm so thankful for His constant presence in our lives.  #GodsPlanistheOnlyPlan

The Final and Last Rendition...

The final rendition of our companies logo.  We made it transparent to be able to be used across several platforms and here is what it looks like now.  It will be in white print on our shirts when we get them made though because we are going to do blue shirts.

Why we get regular Chiropractic Adjustments…

People look at us like we’ve got three heads sometimes when we tell them we go to the chiropractor regularly. This pic of T’s back, with his shoulder blades about an inch difference, is why we go on a consistent regular basis. Plus an aligned body is a healthier body.

Basically, T winged his right shoulder downward while training today. It’s all good because our chiropractor, Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic, will put it all back in on Monday.

A little pain for lots of gain!!!  It was a great training today.

Busy Day Helping Scot....

Busy day for T and I today helping Scot all day with the business.  Scot and T do most of the work while I help a little and also look for photo opportunities that we can use for social media and the website.  We are quite busy working the business these days and promoting it more than we ever have.  I'm learning how to make and put together ads through Canva.  It's been a learning curve to say the least.  We are working on getting the business where it needs to be so that it is more profitable than it's ever been.  Every little bit helps and my expertise is in the background with the camera and working on the computer.  Scot hates this part of the work anyways.  Where he's weak I am strong and vice versa.  Our day ended with the heat pump switch failing though.  So glad it was at the end of the day.  At least that is an easy fix.  We just switch out the switch...get the pun...LOL😂😂😂!

Tuesday’s Sparring Training

Here’s a video of sparring training on Tuesday. T is improving and getting better and stronger everyday.

T's Got Me...

T and I are the same height now.  He is no longer shorter than me and it won't be long and I will be the shortest person in the family and I can already see the fun going to be starting....LOL! He's already like, "Hey shrimp or Hey shorty"...LOL!!

T's 1st Regular Core TaeKwonDo Class....

Tonight was T's 1st night taking a regular class at Core.  He looks so sharp in the Core uniform.  He is really enjoying doing all his classes at Core.  Check out a few pics I got tonight.

Yet Another Logo Design...

My good friend Donna did this design tonight for us while we were FaceTiming and chatting.  We love this design.  The woman has skills!!!  Best Design yet!!!

Since 4 1/2 years old...

T has been doing TaeKwonDo since he was 4 1/2 years old.  He so loves TaeKwonDo and always will.  He loves every aspect of it.  It's been so long since T has had one place to call home with shuffling between 3 schools for his TaeKwonDo training.  We are over a month in with T being in one place and he's the happiest he's been since GMaster Cann passed away.  Too many changes are no good for kids.  They need stability in their lives.  T went from his traditional TKD school to 3 other schools before settling down at this 4th and final school with Master Doug.  He has learned a lot throughout the years.  Especially what he likes and what he definitely doesn't like.  One thing he is thankful for that the traditional TKD school taught is the Ten Student Commitments and The 5 Tenets of TKD.  Check out the pics below to see what they are.  We don't always see these posted in all TKD schools but T learned these well where he took his traditional classes for so long.  He learned a major appreciation for them.  Plus they formed him into the young man he is today.

New T-Shirt Design...

We are looking into getting this design put on some t-shirts for our company.  Hoping we can find someone who will do it for a reasonable price.  First pic is the front left pocket pic and the second is going to be the pic we put on the back of the shirts.

Everything has to be done in different sizing whether it's for the logo, the shirt pocket, or the back of the shirt.  We got them all made like we want but now to find a company that won't charge us and arm and a leg to get them made.

Oak Tree has Fallen😢…

One of our beautiful oak trees bit the dust last night and landed into another tree. Hoping the other tree isn’t too damaged because it could be goodbye to it too😢. As if we weren’t busy enough we have to add cleaning up a falling tree to our list🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️.  I’m guessing the wind may have made it split and fall like that🤷🏻‍♀️.

The boys weren't too crazy about the last logo design so now I've done a new one that they like much better.  Check it out.

Company T-Shirts

This is a design that we are looking to do for our company shirts but finding someone to do it at an affordable price is now what I'm going to be shopping on the internet to find.

Another Puzzle Bites The Dust…

Had to be funny with the title because this puzzle was a pain in the butt to do but it sure is beautiful.

Training Today @ CORE Taekwondo Performance Center

T did full on training today to take his legs out for a spin.  It's been 5 weeks since he first got shin splints and for the past week to a week in a half he's been bugging us to let him train but we wanted him to take some more time to let his legs have more time to fully heal.  He didn't hurt at all today and seemed to really be getting back into it.  Since being home from training for a couple of hours now he is still saying his legs feel good.  I'm glad to see his energy up and to see him back at it.  He's so happy too.  Here's some pics to share with you.

T gave little Dillon his old Daedo Chest Guard, arm gear, and leg gear that he grew out of and Dillon loves them.

T ❤️’s Helping His Teammates…

Whether his teammates are older or younger matters not to T because he wants to help make them better. He so enjoys coaching. He will make a great coach some day.

In this next picture this little boy in the red shirt reminds me so much of T. He really looks up to T too. T says, “I wanna make him a beast.”

New Promotional Pictures for Social Media

Since I'm at home more now I've been able to do more promotional type stuff for the business and making more posts on social media than we ever have.  Next I will be working on a once a month promotional pic that highlights discounts we will be doing for that month to email/text our client list.  Use to be that you sent out advertisements through mail but the new trend is to send it through social media, email, or text.  Since that is the direction that everyone responds to that is going to be our direction in how we advertise our business.  Here are a few of the recent pics I've posted for advertising the business and I'm working on more.

Remaining Motivated...

T is remaining motivated and is eager to get back to full on training.  Starting Monday for the next two weeks he will ease back into full on training with his coach and team.  He has stayed engaged with his coach and team while recovering by helping out with training classes.  He has also stayed engaged by doing his body coach exercises.  It's not without work from his dad and myself that he remains motivated. We do our absolute best to keep him going and engaged when he is going through a recovery period.  It's easy to get lackadaisical during these times and lose interest but he's remained focused and kept moving forward in as much as he can while recovering.  The body coach has been a huge key to his recovery.  He's adjusted his workouts in order for him to be able to do something rather than nothing during this time.  This week he's done a ton of walking in the anticipation of getting back at it next week to see how his shins do.  He's been doing lots of exercises to strengthen his shins but he's also done a lot of core workouts.  Looking forward to seeing him back at it next week.

Commercial Project Today...

Today the boys got to do a commercial project at the church where Scot and I met and eventually married. The church has went through a lot of changes over the years and doesn't even look like the same church as when we attended there.  The Senior Pastor who was pastor then has now stepped down and given his son the reigns as well.  The church is thriving under his leadership and he's been able to make so many amazing changes and forward progress with the church.  It was really awesome to be there and to see all the changes that have taken place.  It was great that they thought of us when it came time to clean the carpet as well.  Our integrity in our business speaks for itself and is why we get repeat clients time and again.  Even though we have gone down a different path with where we attend church we have always had the utmost respect for where God had us for more than 10 years at this church, Living Word Family Church, before He moved us on to where we are now.

So many amazing changes.  The outside facade of the building has had a major facelift and looks fantastic.

The inside has had major changes too and looks amazing as you will see in the pictures below:

Children's Wing

These next pictures are all the foyer area from the side and front of the building.
