Aging Sucks!!!

This past week when I went to the eye doctor after having five days of issues with my right eye I found out that I have this going on with my right eye:  https://www.eugeneeyecare.com/conditions-vitreous-detachment-floaters/. I was told that in 6 months or so that my left eye should go through this too. Joy! Joy!  I understand it is a natural course of things as you age but it still sucks!!!  It’s really bothersome and giving me headaches at times. I had some burning too but the eye doctor assured everything I was experiencing was totally normal. I’m so very thankful that the burning is not constant and neither is the headaches. The floaters are though. It’s exciting to know that they will settle in the bottom of the eye and not be as bothersome at some point.

A Great Honor Was Bestowed!

-BREAKING NEWS-
(Mar a Lago, Florida, USA)Today, November 19, 2021, at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, a ceremony was held at four p.m. where the former president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, received his own ninth-degree honorary black belt. Proudly awarded by Kukkiwon President Grand Master Dr. Lee Dong Sup, who traveled from South Korea, former President Trump was grateful for earning a highly respected title in Taekwondo. Former President Trump has been a passionate supporter of Taekwondo martial arts, and at the promotional ceremony, he spoke about how honored he is to receive this high-level recognition. Furthermore, at the ceremony, he spoke of the importance of learning self-defense, and he also discussed the benefits of Taekwondo values regarding guiding and mentoring. Former President Trump believes that Taekwondo is a dignified martial art for training self-defense and achieving exemplary discipline. He emphasized these values when he acknowledged reviving the lost values through Taekwondo training, and he is hoping Taekwondo can contribute to the American people through Taekwondo teaching.

In addition to reviving Taekwondo values, former President Trump hopes to have the Kukkiwon Demo team visit him soon. President Trump appreciates President Grand Master Dr. Lee Dong sup for this prestigious recognition, and he is looking forward to Taekwondo benefiting the people of the United States.

This event was monumental because it was the first time President Dr. Lee Dong Sup traveled outside Korea to attend a special ceremony and recognize an individual.

(Kukkiwon President Grand Master Dr Lee Dong Sup is working hard to POSITION Kukkiwon Taekwondo to the center for the humanities regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, or political viewpoints…Kukkiwon honors all who support TaeKwonDo.)

T loved seeing this post from his Grand Master, Grand Master Jun Lee this morning. He appreciates every time he sees anyone who supports TaeKwonDo honored. T loves this sport so much!!!

Pic I Shared On Social Media for Our Anniversary

I love apps that allow me to make pictures like this.

November 11th Our 15th Wedding Anniversary

As I was looking at our blog I realized I didn't do an Anniversary blog.  So much of our world is tied up in our son that we get busy with him.  Even though we didn't forget about our anniversary it was spent at home because T was having major sinus issues and we were being safe with his health.  Staying in seemed the right thing to do all around.

It's hard to believe that it's been almost 16 years since Scot and I met and started dating.  Our friend, Lisa Young (who is no longer with us), helped jump start us both, when she had us to her house for dinner...LOL! We dated for less than a year.  We were engaged by September and married by November.  It was a whirlwind of a year the year we got married but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.  Scot is my best friend and the love of my life.  He was so worth the wait!!!

Here are some memories from our wedding that I was enjoying looking through recently and I hope you enjoy them too.

My niece and I.  She's all grown and in college now.

Mrs. Judy (who is no longer with us) helping everyone sign in.

Scot's Parents

Scot and his best friend Charles

My brother, Calvin, gave me away since our dad is no longer with us.

Pastor Don Pollard officiated the service for us.

Becky (who is no longer with us), checking out my rings.  It's something we ladies do.

Such great friends attended our wedding and these are just a few of the pictures I have from that day.  Such great memories that we cherish just as we cherish one another and our friends and families as well.  Those no longer with us hold a very special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten.

Life has had it's up and downs but there's no one I'd rather have by my side to do life with than my husband.  He's a gift from the Lord above and one I'm grateful for everyday.  I'm thankful that I get to fall in love with him more and more as we grow in this life together even with all of it's ups and downs.  We face the hard and difficult times together.  We face the good times together.  There's nothing we can't face as long as we do it together because we know who's we are.  We are children of the Most High!  With Him at the center of our marriage we can face anything!  God is our everything and we wouldn't want it any other way!

Training and Haircut

T had a good couple of days training with the team. Some of the members of the team have shown him weaknesses that he needs to work on and he’s also in return shown them what they need to work on. It’s all about teamwork and making one another better for competition. So glad that he’s enjoying being back at it so much. The down time has ended up being a reset of sorts for him. He’s coming back stronger and he’ll be faster as he trains more in the coming weeks and months.

I had all I could stand with his hair looking all raggedy so I took him to his Barber LaMeek today and T and I reached a compromise thanks to LaMeek. He’s such an awesome Barber.

Body Coach Workout Yesterday

Here’s a partial video of some of the workouts that T does with his body’s coach. He is really enjoying getting his endurance up and getting his core stronger. So thankful for being able to get a body coach for T. It has been key 🗝 to his recovering faster after the injuries he had this past summer. It’s made it possible for him to return to full on TaeKwonDo Sparring training a whole lot sooner. What a game changer this has been for T plus the body coach has been educating us on things as well. With injuries comes learning and we’ve learned a lot in recent months.

T is loving getting back into full on training. There’s nothing more that makes a parent happy than to see their kid(s) doing what they love and growing while doing it. T has matured so much over these past several months. He is no longer my little boy 👦  he’s become quite a young man👨 . We are so proud of the young man 👨  he’s becoming. He’s not only growing in his craft but he’s also growing in the Lord too. That touches our hearts 💕  more than anything. It’s our constant prayer 🙏  that his heart ♥️ will always be towards the Lord and that he will continue to grow in his knowledge and love for the Lord everyday by staying in His Word and seeking the Lord in prayer 🙏. In this crazy world we are living in that is key 🗝 to his survival and being a strong 💪 warrior for the Lord.

Training Yesterday

We did a cross training at WOW TaeKwonDo with Core TaeKwonDo. T is improving more and more. He has a lot to still work on/through but is coming back strong and possibly even stronger than he was before all his injuries this past summer. Here are some pics I got of him yesterday. He started off in his mask but it got so soaked with sweat that he couldn’t breathe and had to take it off. We are going to have to buy him another one, maybe even two, to train in.  So incredibly proud of all this kids hard work not only in sparring training but in school, his regular TaeKwonDo training, and his training with his body coach.  We wanna make sure what happened this past summer never happens to T again.  As we’ve gone through this TaeKwonDo journey with T we have learned a lot more than we ever bargained for but are glad and thankful for what we’ve learned.  It’s been lessons we will never forget. Enjoy the pics.

In this next few photos you’ll see Master Doug (from Core TaeKwonDo which is located local to our home) working with T:

We are looking forward to seeing where T is in his training as he moves forward in training with both Master Wasiu and Master Doug. T really likes both coaches and is thankful for all the help and guidance that he gets from them.
