Caniac4Life!!!

I saw this posted and wanted to share my thoughts.

I have always loved Rod. He’s one of my favorite players from back in the day. His coaching has gotten us into the playoffs many times but hasn’t produced a Stanley Cup Win. It’s disappointing but does it mean he should be replaced?

Is what’s in the picture above the answer? I don’t know. Could switching the coach produce a Stanley Cup Win? It possibly could or it could send the team spiraling so far downwards that it will be hard to recover from as well.

Everyone wants to put the blame on either the goalie, the coach, or the refs all the time but it’s a team sport and they all share in the blame when they lose. Sometimes in the heat of everything the refs get in the way of puck play. It happens. Get over it.

Plain and simple - Florida outplayed us. They are a more cohesive team on the ice than we are. When we’re really on there’s nothing better. These last two games I feel they left it all on the ice. They did their best and came up short. Florida is just that team. That is all.

Parents, Support Your Athlete...

"Parental support is essential for the success and growth of young athletes! Parents who attend their kids sport, encourage their kid and provide emotional support. They also help build confidence and motivation in their kid(s). Parental support can influence the discipline and dedication of a young athlete, which can in turn improve their performance in sports.
As a parent we can show our support in many ways, such as:
- Attend trainings and tournaments/meets/games to encourage our kid(s).
- Help our kid(s) set goals and objectives in sports.
- Encourage a positive and respectful attitude towards their coach(es), teammates and opponents.
- Provide a supportive and stimulating environment at home.
- Celebrate our kid's achievements and progress, no matter how small they are.
By showing our support, we can help our kid(s) develop important skills such as discipline, perseverance, and self-confidence, which will serve them throughout their lives. ". ~Author Unknown

Verse of the Day...

There are days when the last thing we want to do is rejoice.  Our mood is down, our situation is out of hand, and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming.  We can relate to the writers of the psalms who often felt this way.  But no matter how low the psalmists felt, they were always honest with God.  And as they talked to God, their prayers ended in praise.  When you don't feel like rejoicing, tell God how you truly feel.  You will find that God will give you a reason to rejoice.  God has given you this day to live and to serve Him - be glad!  Listen to the song by clicking the link below:

10th Grade Report Card...

Here's Tim's 10th Grade Report Card.  His 11th will be posted by the end of the summer.

This Happened Yesterday...

Yesterday we traveled to Hickory to buy some more equipment for Tim's home gym that we are planning to build first chance that we get.  A friend of ours was selling it for a fraction of what they were worth.  It was a really great deal and we were so thankful for the blessing and prayed blessings upon her and her family as well for giving us such a great deal.  We now have a wall Rogue Rack, Bands that go with the rack, a Reverse Hyper & a lifting floor.  When I say we got it for a fraction of what it's worth it was a fantastic deal.

These pictures below are not my pictures but they are of the actual equipment that we picked up...

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Today we pause to remember those who have given their all for our freedom.  Today we give thanks for those who died in service to our country.  Each year at this time I think about my husbands 2nd cousin who served and gave his life in service to our country.  Check out this picture below and click on it to make it bigger so that you can read what's written on it.

We need to always remember and never ever forget!!!

Quote of the Day...

Verse of the Day...

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
And take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me

Quote of the Day...

Verse of the Day...

We can never avoid strife in the world around us, but with God we can know perfect peace even in turmoil.  When we are devoted to Him, our whole attitude is steady and stable.  Supported by God's unchanging love and mighty power, we are not shaken by the surrounding chaos (see Philippians 4:7).

Do you want peace?  Keep your thoughts on and your trust in God!

About Carolina WSO Elite Athlete...

Just found this out tonight...

(taken from their Instagram post)

(You may have to click on the picture above to be able to read it.)

(taken from their Instagram post)

It is so cool that Tim was included in the Top 5.  We weren't expecting this honor.  It was quite a surprise to find this out.  It seems that he is gonna get a reimbursement of some kind + he will be recognized by the WSO at this year's Championship event & will be awarded items on behalf of the WSO to commemorate his achievement.

Homeschool Year 2024-2025

Biology is done ✅ & Geometry is done ✅ + we will be done with EOG's soon! 2 years of schoolwork in a little more than a years time! Whew! I'm gonna have him finish up what he has left after taking a small break for training/USAW Nationals. Was hoping to be done with school for the year two weeks ago but life happens and things sometimes take longer than we would like. Especially when pulling off two years of school work in one year. Just glad this hard year is almost behind us. He will still have some Chemistry along with some Consumer Math to do when we get back to town then he'll be done with both 10th & 11th grade. It's hard to believe that we will have a Senior next year!

4 Weeks Away...

4 weeks from today we will be traveling for the 2025 USAW Youth Nationals in Colorado Springs, CO.

Tim is really looking forward to this event.  We are doing all that we can to make sure that he is ready for this event.  When he's not training he's been doing all kinds of recovery.  He goes to Atlas Orthogonal for his Chiropractic care to keep his body aligned,  Restore Hyper Wellness for his whole body Cryotherapy and Compression therapy & a body guy to keep his muscles from being knotted up so that he can lift at his best.  He just started doing the last one.  He also does cupping (if you don't know what that is please look it up) and laser therapy.  An Elite Athletes recovery is just as important as their training.  Lots of time, energy & money goes into having an Elite Athlete.  We are all about making sure Tim's doing what's best for his body to keep him at his optimum level.  Being able to lift at his best is the goal so that he can do his best at every Meet that he attends.

Tim will be in a "new" weight division, 65kg, at USAW Youth Nationals this year.  He keeps making such great strides in this sport and we are looking forward to this Meet.  He loves every opportunity that he gets to lift and make gains as he reaches for his goals in this sport.

Please keep us and him in your prayers as we travel to this Meet and as he competes.  Also for him as he trains leading up to the time to travel.  He so desires to glorify & honor God with all that he does in this sport.  Thanks in advance for all your prayers!

This Years Carolinas WSO Championships Announcement...

Tim is looking forward to lifting with everyone again this year at this event.  This will be his 3rd year doing this Meet.  It was the first Meet that he did when he switched over to this sport.

Great Advice...

We have told Tim this all these years since he's been an elite athlete.  It's important that when you have goals, like Tim does, that you surround yourself with those who are striving towards the same goals so that you can help one another to raise your game and be the winner that you want to be.

Quote of the Day...

Verse of the Day...

This is something Kay shared on social media many years ago.

“Know” in this verse means to "acknowledge". As we saw this morning we are to acknowledge that God is God and we are not. It would be a good practice to remind ourselves on a regular basis that He is the one who made us, which means we are accountable to Him. As His sheep we are in a position of privilege - one where God is responsible to feed, protect and guide. When we acknowledge this about God we will be set free and able to rest in that knowledge. ~Kay Arthur (May 22, 2012)

Beautiful...

This would be absolutely gorgeous on our property:

I love getting ideas of how I would like to fix up our property.  It's so much fun to look and dream.

Outdoor Living...

These would be great in the back yard maybe near a pool😉.  To decide which ones would be hard though.  They are all so beautiful.
