Sandy Neal Laid to Rest & Happy Resurrection Day
We laid Sandy Neal to rest yesterday. The graveside service was beautiful. The casket cover was gorgeous. I got a picture of it to share with you. After the graveside service we went back to Uncle Mikes house and spent some quality time with him. It was precious time spent with family. I hate it was under the circumstances that it was but it was cherished time nonetheless.
What a wonderful thing it is that she is spending her first Easter in heaven, getting to see her Lord and hearing, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” She is also being reunited with her son who passed a couple of years back. Sandy loved the Lord and served in her church and went on mission trips with the BGEA (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association). Laura Neal said, “She gave till her body couldn’t give any more.” She had a big heart and shared her faith with anyone and everyone. What a legacy this awesome lady has left behind. I (Lisa) only wish I had known her better. The time I did meet her she left an indelible impression on me. After this weekend I got to see that she probably never met anyone that she didn’t leave an indelible impression on. She was well known in her home town. And as I’m seeing she was a proper “Lady”. She taught her daughter in law how to be a proper lady. What a legacy because there are two granddaughters who are also being taught how to be proper ladies as a result. This wasn’t the end for Sandy Neal though. Only the beginning. And one day we will see her again. Heaven is our home and we are just travelers here on this earth serving the Lord until He returns or we go to be with Him like Sandy did. What a joy it is to know our future home is even better than anything we can imagine in our wildest dreams. It’s better than the best we’ve ever experienced here on earth. How wonderful it is that we have that to look forward to.

Thank you God for your love and kindness and mercy on us. Thank you that our future home is with you. Thank you for sending your son to prepare a place for us. Thank you that this weekend especially we get to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I can’t put it any better than Dolly Parton does in this song,

Easter Came early for T
Aunt Elaine made an Easter basket for T and his Nan and Pop loaded him up with cash. Just caught these few pics with my phone. Not the best pictures. He’s one excited and happy boy right now.

Honoring An Honorable Woman
We are honoring an honorable woman today as she’s laid to rest. Aunt Sandy was known and loved by many. RIP Aunt Sandy!

Family Pictures
It’s sad that the only time we get great family pictures is when there’s been a death in the family. At least we clean up nice.

T’s New Digs and Shoes
T is one sharp looking Dude! We have had a death in the family plus it’s Easter weekend so he’s all set for both. He sure cleans up nice. We head to Kentucky tomorrow so that we can spend time with the family in this time of loss. Scot’s Aunt Sandy passed away. She loved the Lord and is now with Him. She will be greatly missed but we all know she is in a much better place. RIP Sandy! We know you and your son, Mike Jr, are reunited now and enjoying being with the Lord together. You may be gone but you won’t be forgotten plus we will see you again one day!

50th Birthday
Here’s Scot’s reaction when he came home today:
His reaction was to this:

One of Scot’s faves.

Now all he needs is Creed ll and he’ll have all the Rocky movies.

He wore this to dinner tonight at Kanki. We were surprised he chose that over Bonefish Grill.

Our silly son and his expressions while waiting to be seated at Kanki.
T picked out these candles.

And last but not least here’s a picture I put together:
Scot’s 50 Today!
We are all set for when he gets in from work today. Spent the morning taking care of everything for his milestone birthday. Looking forward to celebrating tonight. We thought he’d want to go to Bonefish Grill but tonpur surprise he chose Kanki. Either is a win in my opinion. Both restaurants are awesome!

Carrot Cake is his favorite!

T is going to have him wear the t-shirt and the button that’s on the Birthday bag when we go out to eat tonight...LOL! I know I know, what goes around comes around. It’ll be my turn in November when I turn 50...LOL!

Happy Almost Birthday To My Man
Tomorrow Scot will be 50. He makes 50 look good! We can’t wait to get home this evening to be with him and celebrate his birthday with him tomorrow. He’s such a great husband and father and he deserves to be celebrated.

Another Sunday of Training
T has trained hard these last two weeks in Matthews. He is still going to be training hard at home as well. We are working on trying to do some FaceTiming with his coach while he’s home. We’ll see if we can actually work that out so T doesn’t lose the momentum he’s gained these past two weeks. Here’s a short video.

A few training pics
Here are a few training pics from earlier this week. The first one is with his buddy Chris. T really looks up to him and thinks the world of him. They both train so hard.

So much to think through
We are having to think through so much in the short period of time we have left before Nationals in July. There’s a lot on our plates to make decisions about and we are praying through them that we make the best/right decisions for all that needs to happen. Life is so crazy and we want to put our best foot forward in every area of our lives and in all do. God has been so faithful in opening up the doors he wants is going through in regards to T. Where we are today and where we have been in regards to his training and competition schedule has been a direct result of doors that were opened up last year. We were so blessed by God to have had an incredible woman be part of our lives even though it was shortened by her passing. God brought her into our lives at the right time. It was knowing her and her influence that impacted T and where he is today as a TaeKwonDo Sparring athlete. So be praying with us and for us as we have major decisions to make in the months ahead. Most of which are timing issues. Others of which are making life changes that will help make T’s training schedule easier for us to maintain. Lots going on in our lives and we aren’t missing a beat while we plunge forward with our young athlete. Please just keep us in your prayers. Life is crazy but I wouldn’t trade a moment of it because even with its ups and downs and craziness it’s such a blessing to watch our son grow and learn so much in this sport. Y’all stay blessed!

A Great Memory
T has changed so much since this was posted on Facebook and I just wanted to share it here. He had just received his red belt. He’s accomplished so much since then. #growinguptoofast
