If you look closely at the last pic compared to the other two you can tell that the sun isn't as bright. We watched it from the time that it looked like a pacman until it was almost fully eclipsed. Even with it at 90% it didn't get dark. Just kinda like it was really clouded over like a thunderstorm was rolling in. It was a fun experience though. Timothy and his cousin, Tristan, enjoyed watching it travel across its path to get to us on tv and watch it do its thing in the boxes we made. We found from our research that this was the safest way for our eyes to watch the eclipse.
Welcome to our blog! Here we share life’s special moments, along with posts of encouragement, faith, Bible verses, and updates on our son’s Olympic weightlifting journey. Solar Eclipse
Monday we had a 90% Solar Eclipse here in NC. We were able to feel a noticeable difference in the temperature. It didn't get as dark as we had expected though. This is how we watched the solar eclipse:

Drums
Timothy was given a Classical Guitar recently so we took it to get a tune up and new nylon strings at The Guitar Center. While there Timothy went to the room with the drum sets and fell in love with this:
I have a feeling I know what he's gonna want for his next instrument. We are gonna need to build a sound proof music room for all his musical instruments...LOL!

Lego Robot
Timothy went to buy some lego gifts for two of his friends for their birthday at the Lego Store and saw this:
So we knew we weren't leaving the Lego Store without it. Here is a video of what it is capable of doing and this is only one of five builds that it can do:

Pilot Mountain 2017
I'm a born and raised Carolina gal and I have never been to Pilot Mountain. We took a side trip after dropping Tristan at MTYC today and went to check out Pilot Mountain. All I can say is Wow!!! The views were breathtaking. Such a beautiful day to be up there too. Here are some pics we took.

Mountain Top Youth Camp 2017
Today we dropped Tristan off for his first time at overnight camp. M.T.Y.C. is the camp that I went to as a child and teenager. I luv'd luv'd luv'd going to that camp every summer. If Timothy weren't in a Black Belt testing cycle he'd be up there as well. Timmy luv'd everything he got to see while up there and is already asked if he can attend next year.

Next Friday is Timothy's 1st Pretest for his 2nd Dan Black Belt
Tonight Grand Master Lee went over all the Poomsaes with the kids and gave an O if they knew their Poomsae, a triangle if they semi knew their Poomsae, and an X if they didn't know their Poomsae. Here's a picture of the list and how Timothy did:
