Timothy did great with this sparring drill. He's learning a lot and making great improvements. 

2Cellos Concert

Timothy got to go to the 2Cellos concert with his buddy, Blayden, and Blayden's dad, Mr. Adam tonight. Blayden and Timothy have been friends since they were in preschool together from two years old. And now they take TaeKwonDo together. I believe that they will be life long buds. 

Upcoming Competitions

Timothy is now signed up for both the Kukkiwon Cup on Nov. 4th and the Mid-Atlantic on Nov. 11th. He will be competing in all divisions (Sparring, Poomsae, and Breaking) at Kukkiwon Cup and he will be doing Sparring and Poomsae at Mid-Atlantic. So thankful for Timothy to have these opportunities to compete. Each competition that he's able to compete in gives him more experience. He is always in learning mode these days. It's rare that a day goes by where he isn't training at home and most days it's training at home as well as the dojang. So luv his drive and motivation to become a better competitor.

Timothy had a great time training with Master Lorne at Partners yesterday afternoon. This boy luvs training and doing all he can to learn to be better at sparring.

Earlier tonight Timothy and his buddy Blayden took their 2nd pretest and did a great job.  I couldn't be prouder of these guys.  They are doing so well.  So glad to have this pretest done because the boys won't have to do it again like they will everything else at the final test in October.

Had to go shopping for a running suit for Timothy because more cooler mornings are ahead of us. 

BB-8 Lego Build

Timmy bought this build yesterday and had it built today. He has a laser thing that comes out the front and his head moves.  Pretty cool build.  BB-8 is one of Timothy's favorite characters in the new Star Wars movies.

Breaking Seminar Breaking 2 Blocks

Timmy is gonna break 2 Blocks for his power breaking at the final test for his 2 Dan Black Belt in October. Today he got to practice doing the break. Here's the video:

Sparring Training August 24, 2017

Timothy still has a ways to go. He's learning a lot and sparring harder and better with each class he takes. Plus he's training at home as well. He's still having to learn to block better and not hook his opponents legs because that can get him a possible DQ but a definite gam-jeum which gives his opponent a point. And of course the object is to not do that. In the video below Timothy's opponent hits the floor twice. In situations like that Timmy gets the point(s) for the hit but also gets a point for the opponent falling. WTF (World TaeKwonDo Federation) rules. Check out the video below:

Solar Eclipse

Monday we had a 90% Solar Eclipse here in NC. We were able to feel a noticeable difference in the temperature. It didn't get as dark as we had expected though. This is how we watched the solar eclipse:

If you look closely at the last pic compared to the other two you can tell that the sun isn't as bright. We watched it from the time that it looked like a pacman until it was almost fully eclipsed. Even with it at 90% it didn't get dark. Just kinda like it was really clouded over like a thunderstorm was rolling in. It was a fun experience though. Timothy and his cousin, Tristan, enjoyed watching it travel across its path to get to us on tv and watch it do its thing in the boxes we made. We found from our research that this was the safest way for our eyes to watch the eclipse. 

Drums

Timothy was given a Classical Guitar recently so we took it to get a tune up and new nylon strings at The Guitar Center. While there Timothy went to the room with the drum sets and fell in love with this:

I have a feeling I know what he's gonna want for his next instrument. We are gonna need to build a sound proof music room for all his musical instruments...LOL!
