Getting Excited....

We are just days away from traveling to USA Taekwondo Nationals being held in Jacksonville, Florida.  T is more prepared than he has ever been for this event.  He is looking forward to this opportunity to go and do his best and see where the chips fall.  Win or Learn this is a step forward to helping him become all that he can be in this sport.  He values every opportunity that he has to grow and do his best.

As an added bonus I will get to see my cousin and my Aunt on this trip.  T has only met them once and he was really small.  He doesn't remember the visit at all.  This time I will be sure to get pictures.  #family1st

KPNP & Daedo Electronic Systems Battling for Olympics...

The two electronic systems used for Taekwondo sparring events are both vying to be able to represent at the Olympics in 2024.  It had been posted that KPNP had won the bid and would be representing then it was quickly taken down on social media so someone may have jumped the gun too soon in assuming they would be the ones winning the bid.  We will have to wait and see who wins out in the end.

Fuel Tank for Trailer...

Scot just ordered this fuel tank to put on the front nose of the trailer to fuel our machine.  It will be easy to fill at the fuel pump and there will be no fumes inside the trailer.  It's a Win Win!  Can't wait for it to arrive so that Scot can up-fit the trailer with it.  It's a:

T Flexing....

We are in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!  T won't be able to maintain staying in the weight division he is currently in next year even though many athletes do that.  He will have to move up.  Check this picture out:

Things to Know about Creatine....

T recently started using this supplement because his coach said it would be good for him.  We did our research though before putting him on it.  It has a lot more good things than I thought.  When his coach mentioned him using it my mind went immediately to him bulking up big time because most body builders use it for that reason alone.  This video however was very informative on educating on all that creatine does for your body.

Is creatine performance enhancing?

Consuming creatine, either in foods or supplements, can increase muscle creatine stores. Research has also shown that with the right training, creatine loading can enhance an athlete’s ability to perform tasks that require short bursts of power (less than 30 seconds in duration). However, not all athletes benefit from creatine since the training program itself remains the key component of success.

Is creatine prohibited?

No, creatine is not prohibited. Although creatine can have a small effect on performance, the effects are not guaranteed and the specific training program remains most influential.

New Haircut for Me by Brittany Dean...

While in Kentucky this past weekend I got my niece to cut my hair.  She did an amazing job.  I love it!!!

The Smog from the Wild Fires Up North...

Here's a couple of pictures that we took on the way up to Kentucky of the smog in the West Virginia Mountains.  It was really bad up there all weekend but it was the worst when we were driving the West Virginia Turnpike.

Father's Day in Kentucky...

We had such a wonderful time in Kentucky with our family.  We cherish every moment that we get to spend with them.  Here are a couple of pictures that I took with my phone.  I have to download the ones from my camera when I get a chance and post them as well.

USA Taekwondo Nationals...

Well T is registered for the event and he has 13 competitors in his division for Nationals.  He weighs in on July 8th and Fights July 9th.  I know that number of competitors may seem like a low number but those 13 are just like T, the best of the best.  They are the elite fighters of the division and they are all very good including T.  We've had lots of conversations with T in recent weeks reiterating to him that he is just as good if not better than his competitors.  He is an elite fighter.  From this point on there will be no novice/chump fighters in his division.  His mind is in a great place.  Physically he is looking amazing.  He and his coach are such an amazing team.  I love to see them working/training together.  He is training hard at home and with the team to get ready for Nationals.  We are praying that he brings home a medal so that he can compete at the Grand Prix Final in September/October time frame.  He has to medal in order to be able to do that event.  So keep him in your prayers that God gives him uncommon strength, speed and wisdom as he fights at Nationals so that he medals and will be able to move on to the next event.  Pray also that his coach is able to help keep him calm and focused so that he can guide him to the wins that he needs in order to move forward.  Thank you.

Happy Father's Day....

My dad past on many years ago.  Although he wasn't the father he should have been to his children I still loved him away.  May he rest in peace.

God knows what we need during those formative years growing up though and what my dad couldn't be for me while I was growing up I had in a fantastic father figure who loved me as if I were one of his own children.  He wasn't just a father figure but my pastor and the man who led me to Christ at the young age of 12 years old.  I have always referred to him as Dad.  I was a life that was blessed by God when He brought John Gordon into my life.  He and his wife, Anne (aka Mom), will always be my 2nd parents.  My godly parents.  The ones who always pointed me to Christ every step of the way when I was growing up.  I still stay in touch with them to this day.

Then there's my amazing husband who is the best father ever!  I love the relationship that he and our son, T, have.  It's something I wanted so desperately growing up from my own father but never had.  It blesses my heart so much to watch them together.  He guides and leads him so wonderfully.  My heart overflows because I get to watch their relationship grow and get better every year.

Scot is the father he is because of his Dad!  My father-in-law, Franklin Neal (aka Popsie), is amazing.  He loves his family immensely.  He loves the Lord the same.  He is a wealth of knowledge that I could never unravel here as I write this post.  He is the best Popsie ever to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

To say that my life has been blessed immensely is an understatement.  What I was missing in my childhood God has given back to me in John Gordon, who showed me how a father should be to his children leading by example.  In Franklin Neal, who is so loving and puts his family above everything except God in his life.  And lastly in my husband who is an amazing dad to our son but also an amazing husband to me.  I'm thankful to God everyday for the blessings in my life!

Happy Father's Day!

My Dad!

My amazing Husband!
