Returning to Black Belt World…

We met with Grand Master Jun Lee Wednesday night at Black Belt World and shared with him all that had transpired at Nationals with T’s fight and his coach. We expressed our interest in returning to Black Belt World and continuing his traditional training there. After the meeting we sent an email to Master Doug from Core letting him know we were not going to be returning since our main purpose for being at his dojang was for T to do sparring training and compete and since he told him that he was off the team “permanently” there was no reason for him to return to Core. T can get traditional training closer to home that is way more structured and better. While we hate things had to end the way they did it was completely out of our hands. The coaches mind was made up and there was nothing we could do or say that was going to get him to see things from our point of view. His mind was closed and he gave us no choice but to move on from his dojang.

When a student is adamantly saying what happened at Nationals was not intentional and the coach chooses to not believe him and punish him as extremely as this coach did there’s no reason to continue with them. A student has to believe in and trust their coach/Master but all trust and faith was lost when Master Doug didn’t believe our son. It also showed T and us that he didn’t believe in him either which was very sad seeing as T had looked up to and respected him as much as he did. Now all that he feels is disappointment and hurt because of him. Being back at Black Belt World will give T the separation that he needs for his heart to heal after being crushed from this coach so that he can continue his Taekwondo training and earn his 4th Dan Master stripe. Grand Master Jun Lee is an amazing Grand Master. He’s someone that T has always been able to look up to with great admiration. He’s looking forward to getting back plugged in and doing leadership as well. We were so glad that Grand Master Jun Lee gave us the go ahead to return last night.  So our future posts will be of our son back at the school that he started his Taekwondo journey at, Black Belt World😊.

These are old pictures. I think 🤔 they are from October of 2021.

This last one of him is within this several months.

T Working with his Dad last Monday…

Forgot to share this of T helping his dad last Monday at the commercial project.  He’s really getting the hang of running the wand that we affectionately call Wanda.

He’s looking more like a pro all the time. Learning the business and stepping up to help his dad has shown just how much he’s maturing and growing up. So proud of him. He’s such an amazing kid.

Lunch After Church…

We had Kanki Japanese Steak House for lunch and I was able to get a pic without him squinting.

T L👀king Good!

The boy cleans up so good. We went to church for the first time since Covid locked us down today. The church we’ve been attending aren’t doing their 11am service anymore so we went to Cross Assembly’s  11am service and really enjoyed it. T knows so many teens his age there. Gonna get him plugged into the Youth Group with them.

He’s squinting because of the bright sunlight.

Sad News....

It's with a heavy heart that we say that T's competition Taekwondo Fighting journey has come to an end.  There were some mishaps that happened at Nationals during T's fight and instead of his coach/Master turning them into learning/growing experiences between coach and student his coach made a very extreme and harsh decision to kick T off the sparring team entirely.  T has been overwrought with heartbreak over all that has transpired since Nationals.  His coach wouldn't give T or Scot the time of day to talk and work things out.  They had a meeting with the coach but his mind was set and there was no changing it.  T has worked so incredibly hard and to have a coach do to him what was done was extreme and completely uncalled for.  The coach allowed his ego and pride to get in the way and he hurt a student very deeply who thought the world of him but now hates the man.  If he never ever sees this coach/Master again that will be fine with him.   I've never known him to be like this either.  We have all been so taken aback by this and are still reeling from it.  That someone could be as cruel and awful as this coach has been just astounds us.  At some point T will earn his 4th Dan Master stripe (probably back at Black Belt World with his Grand Master) but for now he's taking a complete break and we are looking forward to family time and being able to have some real fun instead of training and doing tournaments all the time.  T still wants to stay in shape though so we are looking into other options for that.  If he decides after some time has past to delve back into sparring then at that point we will have to find another coach entirely.  Either way we are just going to enjoy having more family time and I'm going to get my living room back.  Hooray for that!!!

T’s Teen Cave Revamped…

We reorganized and moved things around to work better in T’s Teen Cave. He loves his new set up and the new home we did for his Guinea Pigs.

T is in his element. He’s getting set up to earn money with his gaming.

The Guinea Pigs love their new cage.

We got T a Roku so he could listen to his music and watch movies as well. He loves the new set up. It really cleaned up nicely.

Fun on the Lake at Flamingo Lake Jacksonville, Fl…

T has been having a great time on the lake at the campgrounds where we are staying. We rented a cabin at an rv park. Who knew that they had such things🤷🏻‍♀️?!?!  Now we know and we loved it. We’ll be looking into these more in the future when we travel.

More Upfit to the Trailer…

Scot has been doing more to upfit the trailer. I’m not sure what some of the pictures are of but I do know that it’s going to help with the equipment in the trailer. He also received the gas tank he ordered and will be getting that mounted as well. I love seeing him so excited to have something that works better for our business than what we had. What we had was falling apart. What we have now gives us more room to do what we do.

Here are the pictures:

The pic above is a template that he used to cut down our chemical rack to suit the current needs of the business.

The chemical rack is mounted in the new trailer. Underneath the rack will be where the spare tire for the trailer will be stored.

Happy 4th!

Just want to take a moment and wish everyone a very Happy 4th of July. Enjoy celebrating 🥳 Independence Day with your friends and family.

T’s Credentials for Nationals…

T received his credentials for Nationals today. He is so looking forward to this opportunity to do his best and let the chips fall where they may. He’s also looking forward to all that he will learn at this event.
